Shanghai, a municipality directly under the Central Government, is an economic powerhouse located in the Yangtze River Delta, ranking first in China in terms of total GDP for many years. Infrastructure-wise, Shanghai boasts the world’s largest seaport and Asia’s largest airport. Shanghai Port has established container cargo trade with north of 500 peers in 214 countries and regions. In 2018, Shanghai Port ranked second in the world in terms of cargo throughput. Shanghai operates two large international airports: Hongqiao and Pudong.
