Jinan is the capital of Shandong Province, China’s third largest provincial economy. The city’s pillar industries include finance, technology and manufacturing. In 2016, the city further designated the logistics sector as one of its four main development targets and made plans to increase its GDP allocation to 8% in 2020.
Jinan is a key transportation hub linking North and East China. It is a key stop along the Beijing‐Shanghai Highspeed Railway. Four national expressways pass through the city enabling access to major cities in Shandong, southern Hebei and southern Shanxi within one hour.
It is an emerging regional logistics hub boosted by strong policy support. Since 2016, the government has invested heavily in infrastructure improvement and layout optimization for its logistics parks. There is an increasing demand for Class A warehouses underpinned by rising domestic consumption and e-commerce boom.
Prologis owns and operates logistics and distribution facilities in Jinan.
